suggestions needed w.r.t buying gold

Hi IL ladies,

Indian trip in pipeline hence need your suggestions on the following:

1. Planning to buy 24k gold coins (Canadian maple leaf) and exchange it for 22k jewelries in India. Has anyone done this? Is it worth doing?
2. Which turns out to be economical (24k gold coins)buying online (apmex, gainesville), buying from local gold shops or buying from duty free shops in Dubai airport?

Please guide me.
