As you all know, I'm on a recycling spree, :-)
This was one of my favourite sarees(bought in 2002, before my marriage) and I've worn it quite a few times(for 3-4 weddings), then the blouse stopped fitting me(after my wedding when I put on weight). This is not pure kancheevaram.
But I just could not get myself to give it away................finally, last month I cut it up. Made a trial pavada for my friend's daughter who was turning one in December. I wanted to make atrial before the actual birthday pavada gift.
I made one for my 6 year old daughter as well. I've some more cloth from the pallu, pieces of which I'm going to use as pallu for another saree. and the rest of the body, I'll use it in another designer dupatta(Let me see).
The colour looks different due to the difference in the lighting but its the same saree. Just simple, traditional pavadas- nothing hi-fi about it.:-D
