Dear Happy people

To all the lovely folks who are annoyed by my friends and me who constantly grumble and complain about every living thing on the planet. I would like to offer you a humble apology. I am sorry our cribbing has offended you, I know dealing with people like us who refuse to go away is difficult.

You see we wake up in the morning and when we read that the Indian Army has raped Manipuri women and a woman has been fasting since 2000, for the rights of Manipuri women, we are unable to shirk it off. Now before you say that here she goes again, here is the source for it – however, if you think I am wrong, please present me with contrary facts and I will humbly retreat.
‘We stripped and shouted, ‘Indian Army, rape me!’ It was the right thing to do’ | Revati Laul

Now for those who think that Tehelka is too left wing for you, then I offer you the very much made in America Washington Post In India?s remote northeast, civilians challenge rape, killing by security forces - Washington Post

Actually the problem with people like me is we are born to question? See in school when teachers told us 2 + 2 is 4, we asked them why can it not be 5? We have been pestering the world ever since then.... So you are not the only people that are annoyed by us.
We question the system we live in, they hate us and call us 'conspiracy theorists.' Actually as Sanjay Dutt in Munnabhai says there is a “Chemical Locha (issues)” in the brain. We feel restless when we live in our comfy world, take a dip in our swimming pool, shop for organic food and see that someone far away is suffering and just maybe the tax we paid or the government we voted in, in some way contributed towards it.

From the Indian army to patriarchal structures to colonialism, monarchy, misogyny – you name it and we hate it. See our brains are not wired to see the good things in life, because we live in times where the “good things” – equality, justice and freedom are enjoyed only by a few.

Now see I am the one that called a "few Indian military personnel rapists" I also furnished articles or proof of the same but then maybe you were busy enjoying the good life and did not have an opportunity to read it.

I also bashed colonialism and feudalism - when people wanted to celebrate the birth of their monarch. To think about it I actually bashed the media that time - because I wanted them to focus on more important things like - Syria or Palestine - so I would be more informed about what goes on around me and get fodder to crib some more. See the normal birth of a child does not offer much to crib, thus leaving me sleepless.

So, we are so sorry that our posts constantly annoy and irritate you. Actually to tell you the truth, we are working on it, we truly are trying to be diplomatic, neutral, quietly enjoy our privilege and sometimes we genuinely attempt to rub our good luck in your face as well.

However, like they say “old habits die hard,” however, I promise we are working on it.

That being said, I also want to thank you for all the attention! Like my good friend Rakhi Sawant says “any publicity is good publicity,” my small group has thrived thanks to your constant references to us on every other posts. However, I am confused that why are you indulging in the same bad habits like us? Why are you complaining about us? See complaining, cribbing and finding faults are the only qualities we possess and we would like to issue copyright for the same.

However, one allegation I disapprove is that I did not bash American policies. I would leave it up to the Americans to do it and I think they do a pretty good job of it because the ones that I know of don’t wear blinkers. They indulge in self-inquiry, question their government, their military and their policies.

Their culture encourages rational arguments and does not teach them to believe that they live in a perfect world as long as their family has food, clothing and shelter. If there is one thing that living in America has taught me then it is to question oneself and to question everything because when we question we educate and inform ourselves.

And with that I have to say, Sorry for the last time because you have to deal with our lot. Sorry because I am going nowhere and neither is my breed of cribbers. We are here to crib, and argue but with facts and not by getting personal and petty. Unless the moderators decide to ban us, in that case we can go back to our nondescript blogs that nobody reads.

We don’t call your thoughts hypocritical we like to think you are “less informed” or maybe “misinformed” and I am sure that all you nice people also have similar kind feelings about us. You also think we are “ill-informed,” but here is my offer to you – why not offer us with facts and arguments, which will help us become knowledgeable and informed so that we stop complaining.

Also there is enough space on IL for all of us to co-exist in peace, without getting personal. Or is it that when we don't have rational facts to offer it is easy to get personal and shut down the other person?

But imagine the world will be such a beautiful place if we cribbers wee only as well-informed as you guys. We can also borrow the rose colored glasses that you have then and enjoy this beautiful world.

Your patience is much appreciated.

Best Wishes

P. S. – Please forgive me if my letter has offended you. But if it has, too bad we live in an unfair world. However rather than get petty – you can offer a counter argument but in case you have nothing nice to say, and only want to call me names – please don’t feel free to do so. Because it will cause misery to the moderators and as it is they are overworked these days.
